Professional Drivers Medical Examinations

Bus & Lorry Drivers

1)Bus and Lorry drivers must have medicals throughout their careers:
First application of your provisional Category C1 (7.5t), C (rigid) or D1 (minibus), D (bus) licence

2)When you turn 45 you will need to do another medical followed by one every 5 years after that

3)When you turn 65 you will need to do a medical every year

Taxi Drivers

The rules for taxi drivers is slightly different to those of bus and lorry drivers. The recomendation from goverment is that a taxi driver must meet the same standards as those of bus and lorry drivers. The local authority (council) determines what the medical consists of and who can do it so please check with your local authority to make sure that any registered doctor can perform the medical and not just your GP.

How to arrange your medical

Simply call 01304 36 99 44 and we will arrange a time to suit you.

To confirm an appointment, payment will be asked for at time of booking using a debit or credit card.

We will then send you confirmation of the time and location of your medical examination along with a specimen bottle which we would ask you to take with you to the examination.

The Doctor will carry out the medical examination and complete the D4 form required by DVLA. The Doctor will carry these forms in stock so there is no need to bring your own.
